Fiber cement on older stock
The kind of fiber cement replacement we do on pre-1980 homes, with the sheathing opened up and the water path corrected before any new cladding went on.
What to look at
The interesting part is behind the cladding: house wrap lapped correctly over the flashing rather than under it, kick-out flashing where the roof meets the wall, and the ground clearance respected at the bottom course. On a house of this era we expect to find at least one of those three missing.
